PRIVATE RESIDENCE ON CAT CAY
BACKGROUND: A private island in the Bimini chain, Cat Cay is one of the most beautiful and exclusive communities in the entire Caribbean. Many of world's most influential, famous and wealthy individuals call Cat Cay their full- or part-time home.
CHALLENGE: When one of the island's most prominent families wished to create a more inviting and natural outdoor space to enhance the overall aesthetic of their residence, they contacted Safari for advice and help.
SOLUTION: Safari developed a plan to transform an old trellis running in front of the house into a beautiful and authentic thatched shade environment. By combining elephant grass, eucalyptus, bamboo and Zulu rope the entire structure would appear to be created entirely of natural materials.
RESULT: Smooth lines and rustling elephant grass truly provide the owners of this impressive oceanfront home with a relaxing outdoor getaway that was designed to withstand winds of up to 120 mph.
